Thoughts

S.H.A.P.E.

I’ve recently been working on my SHAPE profile (spiritual gifts, heart, abilities, personality, and experiences). SHAPE is a spiritual discovery book written by Erik Rees. I have found this book to be very enjoyable and helpful, as I have come to learn some more specifics about myself and my passions.

SPIRITUAL GIFT(S)

I believe that the Lord has given me the gift of encouragement. I find this to be a very natural thing for me to do when I am with others.

HEART

To inspire people to meet a goal, help them to discover who they are, know their passions, themselves, their strengths, and grow in confidence.

ABILITIES

My natural abilities are in counseling (empathizing), encouraging, connecting, learning, motivating, and inspiring. I feel I can use these natural abilities by motivating and encouraging people to reach a fitness goal and discover more about who they are, their passions, and their purpose.

PERSONALITY

I find myself to be more extroverted in nature, although I feel I most excel in small group and one on one settings. I prefer to work with people in a direct/impact way rather on projects behind the scene, although, I enjoy the process of working on projects that will directly impact people. I like to do things that provide variety, with some routine in the schedule. I do not respond well in high-stress situations. I feel I shut down if I don’t feel prepared.

The experiences that have made the most impact on my life, both positively and have caused growth pains are:

Positives:

  1. Ran two marathons
  2. Developed a personalized Parkinson’s Disease fitness program
  3. Earned my Masters in Higher Education
  4. Overseas missions in Poland and Portugal

My positive experiences can be used to motivate, inspire, and encourage others who want to accomplish a goal or learn more about themselves by stretching themselves to discover their purpose here on earth.

Painful:

  1. Difficulty getting pregnant
  2. Having a child diagnosed with ASD
  3. Eating disorder in high school
  4. Feelings of rejection by others

I feel that the painful experiences I have been through can help me relate better with people who have experienced something similar in their life. I believe that helping others feel heard, validating their feelings, and knowing that they are not alone is the beginning process of healing.
